Description of the FindEB program and files: The "FindEB.sea.hqx" file consists of programs, data files, and documentation in a compressed form. Decompression procedures are discussed in detail below. The programs and Manuals may be used as lab exercises in introductory-to-advanced astronomy classes. Everything needed is included in the compressed file. Macintosh computers are required. Instructions for FindEB File Retrieval: You may "get" this file and the "FindEB.sea.hqx" file in the usual fashion - binary mode is recommended for the FindEB.sea.hqx transfer. Once you have acquired the file, follow these steps - (1) Place the file in a new folder. Label it something like FindEB. (2) You need the commonly-available shareware application called StuffIt Lite. I am using version 3.0.7. Launch StuffIt Lite. (3) From the Translate menu, choose BinHex4 and Decode. (4) Navigate to your FindEB folder and open FindEB.sea.hqx. This action will produce a file called FindEB.sea. (5) Double-click the FindEB.sea icon to decompress the 98 files you need. (6) You may now discard the FindEB.sea and FindEB.sea.hqx files. (7) The FindEB Manuals and Find.Period Manuals are MS Word 5.1 documents that explain the exercises.
