About The Course

All this information and more (including breaking news, online quizzes, and announcements) can be accessed by enrolled students through Blackboard.

Content

More specifically, the official course syllabus is here and a list of what I will talk about each day can be found here.

Homework

Homework will be assigned once a week, and the assignments can be found here. The assignments are to be handed in at the lecture on the day they are due. Late homework will not be accepted for any reason, but I will not count your two lowest homework scores.

You are encouraged to discuss homework with each other, but you must turn in your own work. If you aren't sure exactly where the boundary (and hence the Honor Code) lies, please ask me rather than make assumptions. The written homework will be graded not only on correctness, but also on how well you communicate and explain your answers. Mathematics is a process, not a final answer, and your work should reflect that.

Exams

There will be three midterm exams during the semester and one final exam at the end of the semester. Each midterm will be on a Thursday evening from 7 pm until 9 pm and the Final is a Sunday evening from 6:30-9:30 at a location to be announced later. If you have a conflict with these times, please let me know ASAP (and at least two weeks before the exam) and we will try to work out an alternative time.
