Scenery and Staging

The Scenery & Staging group is responsible for the research, design, and creation of the production's scenery. They were tasked with coming up with an exciting and original mode of staging the production behind Breidenbaugh Hall and, in addition, with handling the challenge of producing the play at Hood College. The group will also be designing and producing copies of the DVD, the program, and the t-shirt.

WHAT WE WORKED ON THROUGHOUT THE SEMESTER:

THE PROGRAM

THE CLASS T-SHIRT

Because the costume group was responsible for designing the course webpage, they wanted to get everyone's input. They sent out a questionnaire for everyone to fill and here's what some people in our group said about their work as members of the scenery and staging group:

What kind of research did you do?

We have done some research regarding stage set-up and scenery in the medieval era. However, there is not a huge amount of research to be done since we are working mostly with a more modern setting. We knew we needed a desk and chair for the first scene. Other than that, the set really does not need much scenery.

What are your plans for the T-Shirt?

Our plans for the t-shirts are  as follows: They will be available for our performance at Hood College. They are going to be black t-shirts with white writing. The front will say "English 312: Medieval Drama" in the pocket-area of the shirt. The backs will have a large gold cross with "The York Cycle" across the horizontal part and "Crucifixion" going down vertically. The "R" in York and Crucifixion will be the same, so the words form a cross within the cross. Writing below this image will contain the dates and other information required to be on the shirts.

...and this year's tee shirt was a good one so Professor Fee, you may now exhale.
