Presidential Search


On May 3, 2018, Gettysburg College President Janet Morgan Riggs ’77 announced to the Board of Trustees and College community that she will retire following the 2018-19 academic year. Riggs was appointed the 14th president of Gettysburg College in 2009 after serving as interim president in 2008.

This website is designed to share information about the presidential search and provide ways that the Gettysburg College community can contribute their ideas and perspectives to aid in a successful and thorough search.

Charlie Scott ’77, P’09, P’12, Executive Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, has been appointed to serve as the Chair of the Presidential Search Committee (PSC). The PSC, which is made up of a broad and diverse representation of our College, together with the extended College community and with the assistance of a professional search firm, will lead a global search for highly qualified candidates to serve as our next president.
